Position:  Bookings & Office Administrator 

In this role, we are seeking a fun and professional office admin person to assist with our tourism bookings, phone and email enquiries, report writing, database admin and accounting.  The successful applicant should have a proficiency with computer programmes, email and database management, accounting software such as MYOB or Xero.  Experience in tourism customer service is not essential but is desirable.  This position will become the first point of contact for our guests on their adventure with us and is vital for creating a wonderful and positive customer experience.  The position will begin as a causal full-time (fixed term) position with the hope to an offer of a permanent full-time position.

Position:  Bus Driver

In this role, we are seeking a qualified and experienced bus driver for our Maria Island Shuttle bus operations.  This expanded bus service will operate daily between Hobart and Triabunna.  We require a professional bus driver in the Hobart region to be available for early departures from Hobart.  Our current operations are for medium sized buses, however an experienced coach qualified driver would be preferred.   Experience in tourism customer service is not essential but is desirable.  The position will begin as a causal (fixed term) position on a rotating roster, with the hope to an offer of a permanent full-time ongoing position.

Position:  Vessel Skipper

In this role, we are seeking a qualified, professional and experienced vessel skipper for our Maria Island cruise & walk tour operations.  The successful applicant will work together with the owner to facilitate our award winning cruises to Maria Island and Ile Des Phoques.  Applicants must have a high level of proficiency in operating high speed passenger vessels, such as our twin deck 12m Naiad, a knowledge of vessel maintenance and mechanics and vessel safety management systems.   Applicants must also show a history of working in tourism to provide high levels of customer service and the ability to deliver our interpretive storytelling onboard the cruise while operating the vessel safely.  The chosen applicant should provide evidence of workplace experiences with references, referees and customer reviews.  The position will be well remunerated and will begin as a contracted or causal (fixed term) position on a rotating roster, with the hope to an offer of a permanent full-time position.

Position:  Tour Guide

In this role, we are seeking an enthusiastic tour guide and deckhand for our cruise & guided walking tours on Maria Island.  Successful applicants will have a passion for entertaining people, working in the outdoors, learning about Maria Island’s history and cultural past.  Experience as a vessel deckhand, tour guiding, or tourism customer service is not essential but will be preferred.  The position will be well remunerated and will begin as a contracted or causal (fixed term) position on a rotating roster.

Position:  Cook / Kitchen Hand

Our Maria Island Cafe is expanding too and you might be the person we are looking for!  In this role, we are seeking an experienced and professional cook or kitchen hand to prepare our wonderful food in our café and for our tour operations.  The successful applicant will have experience working in commercial kitchens or will have experience working in hospitality customer service and is willing to learn on the job.  We require someone who has a strong work ethic to provide quality food at a very high standard, who can manage working early morning shifts and weekend work. The position will begin as a causal position on a rotating roster.

Position:  Barista / Cafe Server

In this role, we are seeking a barista or front of house server for our Spirit Of Maria Café in Triabunna.  Applicants should have a fun and vibrant passion for people and a keen interest to work in a professional team to deliver the highest level of customer service in our café.  We require someone who has a strong, professional work ethic, who can manage working early morning shifts and weekend work. The position will begin as a causal position on a rotating roster.
